Project Armstrong

Challenge

It has been a challenge for companies in the IT sector, including Arm Hungary, to recruit appropriately trained and skilled employees for years, as well as to promote their employer brand and increase their visibility among both young people the experienced workforce.

Solution

The Project Armstrong embedded C programming competition was open to students and experience programmers alike. We promoted the competition mainly on online channels (Facebook, Google Ads, GameStar, YouTube, Prohardver group, etc.).

A total of 43 teams and 108 contestants applied to the competition. During the qualification round participants had to program the guidance computers of their spacecraft in order to land on Europa, the 6th moon of Jupiter. The top 6 teams who achieved the highest score in the qualification round progressed to the final which will be organized in the autumn of 2020.

Feedback

Participants expressed their opinion regarding the competition through a feedback questionnaire after the qualification round.

Through the competition Arm Hungary could promote its emploey brand and increase its visibility amongst young talents. They could get to know talented competitiors, who could soon become a part of their team.

Participants were very satisfied with the task and the work of the organizing team.
