Challenge

Being one of the biggest agricultural manufacturers in the world, CLAAS Group placed innovation in the heart of its strategy from the beginning. And successful innovation requires the very best - this means that finding talented young engineers is a high priority issue in the company's HR activity.

UniTech Engineering Competition 

With the support of CLAAS Hungária Kft. and the help of EcoSim, UniTech Engineering Competition was realized for the first time in 2011 in order to discover competent, resolute and enthusiastic mechanical engineer students who have the potential to become CLAAS employees in the future.

Participants face a tough challenge in the competition. First, they have to design a machine which is capable of standing the tests of fatigue, mobility and harvesting ability. Then the designs are rated by the expert jury and only those having the best quality can make it to the "building part": the competitors have to implement their plans and build their own harvesters.

Besides this outstanding professionalism, the competition also owns a great atmosphere because observing the variety of the new-built machines and measuring them is a real pleasure in the final round which is held in the HQs of CLAAS in Törökszentmiklós.

UniTech Simulation Competition

In 2019 CLASS decided to ask engineering students to participate in a new challenge by taking over the leadership of a virtual factory. In the competition participants had to make strategic decisions as the leaders of the virtual CLAAS factory, bearing in mind the aspect of order fulfillment, quality, and profitability.

In the simulation, they had to type in exact numbers as decisions and could start development projects as well. The decision areas were: production plan, raw material and the semi-finished product order, HR, hall and technical equipment installation, logistics, projects.

The 10 best teams with the most successful virtual factory qualified to the live final, where they proved their professional knowledge by presenting their innovative idea to the expert jury from CLAAS.
