ALTEO Energy Challenge 2022

Idea

ALTEO Energy Service Plc. arranged a statewide simulation competition, named ALTEO Energy Challenge, in the spring of 2022, where students and recent graduates could apply.

In the simulation the competitors took over the management of a company that manufactures and sells electric vehicle engines that also use green technologies.

The goal was to lead on the company efficiently and effectively and to improve key performance indicators (customer satisfaction, efficient production, quality, sustainability).

Competition

The competition consisted of 3 rounds: one test round and 2 real rounds. During the online test round, registered competitors were able to try out the current simulation of ALTEO without stakes, in order to get some experiences to take part in the qualifiers.

The online qualifier took place through 3 rounds of decisions, according to the result of the 3.round, top 10 team reached the final round.

The final round was organized at the Lurdy Conference and Event Center in Budapest. Beside the business simulation, the teams had to make a presentation, which was evaluated by a jury of ALTEO's experts. In the presentation they had to show how the expansion of solar energy production will affect the Hungarian economy in the next 5 years. The jury was interested in financial and system security aspects, as well as possible solutions to deal with the negative effects. The most important factors in the simulation were the precise planning of production management, procurement and logistics. In addition, players were given the right to decide on R&D, finance and investment projects.

Teams

The competition was attended by teams of 1-3 people studying in higher education or recent graduates.
